Don’t forget that the health challenge starts on Monday, April 9! But like I said before, we don’t have to wait until then to start getting our bodies ready for the transition!

Healthy Tip of the Day

Women: Your makeup may be contributing to unwanted bacteria collecting on your face. Although makeup can be applied to the entire face, most of it concentrates around the eyes in the form of eyeliner, mascara and eye shadow. So ladies, you need to replace your cosmetics every six months to avoid excess contamination of skin bacteria. Additionally, replace your makeup brushes and sponges every two to three months, as they are a breeding ground for microorganisms that may cause ringworm, conjunctivitis or sties.

Men: The genes in your body can be linked to heart disease, diabetes, and obesity and can be “turned on” if you sit for hours too long. To turn these genes off try taking breaks by walking a lap around your house or to the end of the block periodically.
Everyone: You’ll do better if you focus on 1 key area at one time, especially when dealing with major changes you are making in your life. So don’t start a new job and a new weight loss plan at the same time.
